Dear Prime Minister,please end your campaign to strip New Zealand and her citizens of their right to live in a free and democratic society with your rushed through COVID-19 Public Health Response Bill.
Our ANZAC soldiers fought for our freedom against tyranny.
Your bill under the guise of keeping New Zealand safe gives far reaching powers,that history teaches us are not easily relinquished.
To give the Police the power to enter private homes and Marae without a search warrant.
To give Enforcement Officers the power to enter businesses and shut them down is both abhorrent and Orwellian,and reminiscent of a dictatorship,especially while we are no longer in a state of emergency.
To further give yourself the power to imprison people for 6 months,or to impose a fine up to $4000 only serves as a reminder of how far reaching the consequences of your bill are.
