Fair Deal for Flat Bush: Firm Dates for Our Library, Pool and Community Centre

We, Flat Bush residents, ask the Howick Local Board and Auckland Council to set firm delivery dates for the Flat Bush library, community centre and aquatic centre, give Flat Bush its fair share of local funding, and support a review towards Flat Bush having its own local board.
Why is this important?
Flat Bush has nearly 56,000 residents, about a third of the Howick Local Board area, and has doubled in a decade. Yet we still have no permanent library, no community centre and no council swimming pool. A library and community centre were first promised in 2005, and a $27 million aquatic centre was announced in 2018. The funding is in the Long-term Plan, but the dates keep moving.
Communities of a similar size, such as Devonport-Takapuna and Puketāpapa, have their own local board with six members. Flat Bush has three of eleven seats on Auckland's largest local board. Please sign and share with your neighbours, schools and community groups. Numbers matter.
Could you please confirm you are comfortable with this before we go live? In particular, the last line refers to Flat Bush having its own local board. Given your view that a standalone subdivision or a combined Flat Bush and Botany structure would also work, we can change this to "a fairer representation structure for Flat Bush" if that suits better.
We would also appreciate your advice on the best meeting to present it at, ideally before the formal decisions on the library and aquatic centre in early 2027.
