" We, the undersigned, request the House of Representatives to urge the NZ Government to take decisive and affirmative action to help save the Rhinoceros (rhino) from the very real threat of extinction resulting from the current poaching crisis and subsequent illegal trade in Rhinoceros horn.”
Why is this important?
In South Africa, one Southern White rhino is killed every 9 hours for its horns. It's therefore crucial that CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna) give the Southern White Rhino Appendix 1 status to fully protect them, at this year's conference in Johannesburg (25 Sept - 2 Oct) The NZ delegates, who will attend, need to make the right voting choices to help save the rhino.
How it will be delivered
Petition will be presented to the NZ Parliament by David Seymour, Member of Parliament for Epsom.
