Free bus fares for tertiary and high school students

We are calling on the Minister of Transport, Michael Wood, to implement free bus fares for tertiary and high school students across New Zealand.

Why is this important?

With rent, utilities, gas and food prices rising, the cost of public transport is not another factor young people should have to worry about.

Free bus fares are about making sure everyone has an equal opportunity to get to places of education. No one should have to make the choice to stay home because they can’t afford to go to school or university.

Many countries, including the UK, Australia, Germany and Italy have already made this equitable move and it is time we follow in their footsteps.
