Please DO NOT AXE the iconic Air New Zealand AKL-LAX-LHR route.

Please RETAIN this vital route and essential connection to the UK (and Europe).

Why is this important?

Kiwis in London and NZ are devastated at Air NZ's shocking proposal to axe the iconic AKL-LAX-LHR route with its flagship NZ1 and NZ2 flights.

We fly this route regularly to come home to our families because it's the best route with the best airline. Tourists and business travellers fly this route because it's the best route with the best airline. People travelling back and forth between LHR and LAX fly this route because it's the best route with the best airline.

We all choose to fly with Air NZ because they provide the fastest and only DIRECT route, and they provide a world-class service on board. We DO NOT want to fly longer, indirect routes with other airlines.

For us Kiwis, every time we go to LHR and see that big beautiful Koru on our tails it brings tears to our eyes, we swell with so much pride for our amazing country and our amazing airline. The service is second to none and we could not be prouder to be a Kiwi than when we are on those Air NZ planes with their outstanding crew.

More Kiwis live in London than any other foreign city. We need our airline to connect us to home.

Brexit is also going to bring strong trade agreements to NZ - it is truly unthinkable for Air NZ to abandon this vital connection to the UK at a time when it is going to bring so much benefit to both countries.

Air NZ has got this very very wrong - if it goes ahead it will be a devastating loss for everyone who relies on this service.
